Our beloved husband, dad, and grandpa, Emory Joseph Smith, Jr.,80, passed away July 31, 2017. He was born to Emory Joseph Smith, Sr. and Ora Lillian Williams Smith on June 2, 1937 in Pembroke, Virginia.
Joe loved woodworking, bumper pool, NASCAR, teasing his grandchildren, driving his tractor, reading four to five books weekly, and camping with his family.
Joe is survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Gay, children; Beccy (Mike) Hilton, Teresa Hansen, Mitchell (Lori) Smith, Michael (Shawnee) Smith, 17 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers (Jim and Bill), four sisters (Betty Jane, Emma Sue, Lois Moser, Clara Ann Stone, son (Emory Joseph Smith III), and one grandson (Chase Hansen).
A funeral service will be held Monday, August 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary (1950 E. 10600 S.) Sandy, Utah. Friends may call Sunday, August 6 from 4-7 p.m. and one hour prior on the day of the services at the mortuary. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
