Gerald Reed Christensen

1938 ~ 2018

Gerald passed away on October 28th in Salt Lake City, Utah.He was born March 27, 1938 to Herman and Ruth Reidhead Christensen in Los Angeles, California. Gerald joined the Navy and proudly served his country as a machinist on a Navycarrier for manyyears. That started him off in a career as a master machinist. He also worked many other jobs to support his family including jobs in nurseries, florists and being a camp host at several sites in the mountains of Utah. He married the love of his life Nancy Lou Trelawney on October 3rd 1960 in Salt Lake City, Ut and together they raised four children. He was an avid lover of the great outdoors and spent all the time he could spare fishing, hiking and generally getting lost in the wilderness. He loved trees and animals of all kinds and could be found working in his backyard outdoor oasis in the middle of thecity.

Survived by his wife Nancy; children Gary Lee, Cindy, Holly, and Will (Melissa); 13 grandchildren and 9great-grandchildren;along with nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Leo and Kay, and two nephews.

Friends are encouraged to greet the family during the viewing that will be held on Thursday, November 1ndfrom 6pm-8pm Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake. Interment will be Friday, November 2nd at 11 am atElysian Burial Gardens,1075 E 4580 S, Millcreek, UT 84117.
