Charles Joseph Eidler

1937 ~ 2015

Charles J. Eidler, age 78, passed away November 28, 2015. He was born on May 17, 1937, in Salt Lake City, to Charles C. and Anna H. Eidler.

He graduated from Judge Memorial Catholic High School in 1955. He married Dolly S. Eidler in 1960. While in college he was employed by United Airlines, The Denver and Rio Grand Railroad and the Paris Company Department Store. He graduated from the University of Utah with B.A and M.B.A. Degrees in 1961 and 1962. While in graduate school he worked at the Bureau of Economics and Business research at the University of Utah. He moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 1963 and was employed by Northern Natural Gas Company in various management positions. He was also a lecturer at the University of Nebraska at Omaha for five years. He returned to Salt Lake City in 1983 as Manager of Market Research. He then retired in 1996. During his career he was Chapter President of the Omaha-Lincoln Chapter of the American Marketing Association 1970-1971. He was Vice-Chairman and Chairman of The Statistics and Related Economics Committee of the American Gas Association 1982-1986.

Charlie enjoyed golfing with Dolly and friends, tennis, fishing and boating on Lake Powell and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother in law Willis P. Rokes.

Survivors include his wife Dolly, his two daughters; Terri Willems and Chris and her husband Don Jaeger, his sister; Catherine Rokes-Cowdin and her husband Hugh, four grandchildren; Kylie and Jillian LaValley and Derek and Logan Willems and nephews; John, Mark and Adam Rokes.

He was much loved and will be dearly missed.

An open floor memorial service will be held on Monday, December 14, 2015 starting at 11am at The Chateau at Le Jardin 1950 E Dimple Dell Rd (10600 S) in Sandy, located across from Larkin Sunset Gardens.
