Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Ilene, passed away peacefully Mar. 1, 2016. Ilene was born Aug. 29, 1922 to Charles Leonard and Grace Everill. Ilene attended South High School. She married the love of her life, William Finch Simons. Ilene's life was the happiest in time spent with her beloved children and family, whom she adored. She worked as an accountant well into her seventies. Her true passion was her oil painting and spending many hours in her beautiful garden. After the passing of her husband, she loved living with her daughter, Michelle and her family for many years. She then went to live at Legacy House of Taylorsville, where she resided until her passing. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Legacy House of Taylorsville for the tender love and care of Mom.
Ilene is survived by her four children: Brent Sutherland (Maridell), Susan Warren (Thomas), Michelle Fackrell (Nolan), Randy Simons; stepchildren, Judy Deschenes and Doug Taylor. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and one sister, Lorraine Osborne, who adored her greatly.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Mar.12, 2016 at 11:00am at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Lane (10600 South), Sandy, UT. A viewing will be held Friday, Mar.11, 2016 from 6-8pm and one hour prior to services inside Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary.
