Werner grew up on the lower East side of SLC and went to East High School. He was commonly called Red as he has redish hair and the nick name stayed with him his whole life. He was a well-liked man with a fun personality and always had a joke to share. He was known as a jokester and overall fun person. He left school to join the Marine Corps in 1951 and served there until 1954. In the military he was trained to work on airplanes and heavy equipment. He loved working on mechanical stuff. After the military he got right into heavy equipment repair and as part of his life he was a long haul truck driver. Finally tired of being away from home and family he left truck driving to become a heavy equipment mechanic. Worked for Shoker Construction for many years then went to a Cement Company as their top mechanic. He was a very active member along with our mother Marion Hallman with the National Railroad Historical society. They really enjoyed all the time around railroad buffs and friends.

He lived in Murray, Utah with his wife Marion V. Hallman from 1968 to present.

Werner is preceded by his wife Marion Robertson (Hallman); children Ronald Hallman and Linda Robertson (Peroceschi); parents Christa Marie Zauter and Franz Gerhard Hallman; siblings Jerry Hallman, Barbara Emma Hallman (Murphy) and Frank Hallman.

He is survived by Children Shirley Hallman, her children Justin Petersen (Amber Dean) son, Lisa Petersen (Will) daughter, Sherry Hallman Hafner (Robert) children Jolynn Lopez, Paula Schmidtke, Samantha Schmidtke, Christine Hallman (Busey) husband Kerry children Troy & Travis Busey. Ronalds son Tyson Hallman, Luanne Hallman (Langford) children, Kevin Jr Langford, Craig Langford. Robert & Tara Hallman son James Hallman. Randy Hallman children Bailey Hallman (Aiello) & Max Hallman. Linda Peroceschi (deceased) and her husband Bill, Children Shane and Angie Peroceschi. Michael D. Robertson (wife Gail) children Ryan, Chad and Brent Robertson. His nieces and nephews; Judy Murphy, Mike Murphy, John Murphy, Frank Murphy, Pat and Bill Murphy. Larry Gunther, Carol & Larry Stancliff (Gunther) & Craig and Allison Gunther. David & Carol Koehler, Susan Koehler (Robertson) and Lynn Koehler.

Funeral services will be held on June 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Larkin Sunset Gardens 1950 E. 10600 S. Dimple Dell Rd. Sandy, UT 84092. A viewing will be held prior from 9:30-10:45 AM.
