Obituary
Wesley LeRoy Savage, 78, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by close friends and family on June 13, 2026.
Born April 26, 1948, Wesley was the 3rd oldest of 10 children and grew up in Springville, UT. He spent his time being a good brother by pushing his sister on the tire swing, filling the sandbox with water so they could build sand cities together and going fishing. He was always very kind and loving.
Wes married his sweetheart René Jackson on September 20th, 1968. They met at JB's where René was his waitress. They had two children Benjamin Wesley Savage and Rebecca Savage. They eventually found their home in Taylorsville, Utah where they continued to build a life as a family.
Wes was a very hardworking, dependable man who loved his family dearly. He took pride in his work in the automotive industry which he then was able to retire from in 2016. In his younger days, he enjoyed fly fishing, golfing, and spending time with his granddaughter. They spent time playing sports together, going to Tracy Aviary, museums, and simply just enjoying each other's company.
He lived a healthy life until the end. He certainly had the ability to make everyone who was around him smile and could fill the room with his wicked sense of humor. Wes truly was “The Man, the Myth, the Legend” and he will forever be remembered.
Wes is survived by his wife René (Jackson) Savage, son Benjamin Wesley Savage, daughter Rebecca Savage, granddaughter Devynn Jade Savage, sisters Dianne Abbott, Susan Mercer, Paula Curtis and Michelle DeHaas, brothers Michael Savage, Conrad Savage and Richard Savage.
He was preceded in death by his father Frank LeRoy Savage, mother Emma Lorene Savage and sisters Karen Baker and Lori Pickard.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.
