Joan was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 3, 1959 to Dr. L. Keith Bennion and Helen Bennion. She passed away peacefully on January 30, 2017 from brain cancer complications. Joan had a way of putting others first and keeping quiet about problems she was having.
Joan was a one of a kind character. She loved to tell jokes and would prank anyone she could. Her primary objective was laughter and happiness on others faces. She had a wonderful way of befriending anyone easily. Joan was there for anyone needing an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. A highlight in her life was working with children and her many coworkers. Those around her weren't just acquaintances as she made those around her family.
Joan is survived by her siblings Marcia Bennion, Gail (Ken) Lowe, David Bennion as well as her son Isaac (Heather) Saldivar.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday Feb. 11, 2017 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy.
