William “Chance” Gray sadly left this world on Monday August 7th, 2023. Chance had a zest for life, and he loved to relive his childhood traditions with his sweetheart, Ryanne Piazzola. Chance and Ryanne would go on wonderful adventures together and made a lot of great memories as a couple and were making plans for their future. He grew up with his family in West Jordan and Herriman Utah where he made lifelong friends in the Boy Scout program and in the neighborhood. Chance’s loving Mom and Daddy doted over him in his early years, and he was so excited when his younger brother, Zach, came along. Chance, like his Daddy, loved to travel and to show his sweetheart new places. He also enjoyed reading to Ryanne the way that his Mom read to him when he was little. Percy Jackson was a particular favorite of his because his Mom would read him to sleep with that. Chance would read Ryanne to sleep with “The Way of Kings.” Chance was most passionate about working with Ryanne to set up their life together and he said that he wanted to have a life with her like he had with his family growing up. He worked with a fantastic work family at Hunt Electric where he was starting to pursue his electrician’s apprenticeship. Chance was a beautiful son who grew into a great man. We love Chance so deeply and we will miss his physical touch for a while, but he will always be with us and has shown himself to us in many ways. We will all be incredibly happy when we are reunited.

Chance is survived by Robert Adair Gray (Father, Daddy), Danette Jo (Pray) Gray (Mother), Zachary Andrew Gray (Brother), William Jay Pray (Maternal Grandfather), Nancy Joanne (Gooch) Pray (Maternal Grandmother) and numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by William Franklin Gray, Sr. (Paternal Grandfather), Margaret Raye (Barton) Gray (Paternal Grandmother), Nancy Elizabeth Gray-House (Paternal Aunt)

I am a close friend of the family- The only stories I've heard of Chance have been of what a true light he was to the people he knew.

Oh no. This is such tough news. Losing a child is about the worst thing ever. A club no one wants to be in with an impossible price. He leaves a big hole that won't be filled until the next life.

I remember how special Chance's arrival was. I have not seen prouder parents. I loved reading about how the love of his family became a foundation for how he lived his life. I love the hope for the next life that was shared. How blessed you were to have him. And how blessed he was to belong to you.

Sending hugs and prayers of confort your way. May you ever feel his spirit near and recognize the signs he sends you.
