William Gordon Hansen

1941 ~ 2022

William “Bill” Gordon Hansen passed away peacefully on October 28, 2022. He was born to Gordon and Elise Stillman Hansen on July 16, 1941 in Brigham City, Utah. He grew up in Richfield, Utah but also moved from place to place while Gordon served in the Army during WWII. Bill graduated from Richfield High School. He attended Snow College and the University of Utah from which he later graduated with several degrees in Engineering, including Civil, Traffic and Material Science.

Bill married Donna Johnson on July 12, 1968. They have two children Elisa and Trevor, and six wonderful grandchildren. Bill and Donna were always together, and they spent many years enjoying the outdoors, motorcycling in the hills, camping, boating, hunting and golfing. Many fun years were spent with family and friends, and the St. Bernards, at the family cabin in Fish Lake. As a teenager he loved working on cars and motorcycles.

He worked for the Nevada Fish and Game as a rodman and engineering aide before going into the army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Oakland, California. He worked for UDOT both before the army and after as a Design Engineer until 1979 and completed many highway projects. He received his real estate license in 1980 and worked in commercial real estate for a short period before starting his own engineering business and machinery brokerage, buying and selling mining and manufacturing equipment. He designed and built several metal working machines.

Survived by his wife Donna, daughter Elisa (Mike) Fisher, son Trevor (Amy) Hansen, six grandchildren and sister Sue Hansen. Bill is preceded in death by his parents Gordon and Elise “Sis” Hansen.

A special get together with family and friends will be held at Fish Lake at a later warmer date.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite animal charity.
