  • William Jack Kilgrow passed away on May 24, 2021. He was 84 years old.

    Born May 21, 1937, to William John Worth Kilgrow and Neta Elaine Hull in Bountiful, Utah. Jack was the eighth of their nine children. He attended West High School in Salt Lake City, where he excelled at football. After graduation, he had a short stint in the National Guard. He took classes in math and electronics and became an Electronics Technician before taking a job with Sperry Univac, now L3 Harris Technologies. He later became a Senior Electronic Engineer for L3 Communications.

    Jack was a hard worker. His 50-year career took him to many places around the world, from the jungles of Thailand to the deserts of Saudi Arabia and several places within the United States.

    On February 28, 1983, he married his sweetheart, Kathleen Drouin, who he met while working in Satellite Beach, Florida. They recently celebrated 38 years of marriage.

    Jack and Kathy were stationed in Germany for nine years. They loved their time there. They traveled throughout the world for work and pleasure for many years before returning to Utah in 2007.

    Throughout his life, he was an avid sportsman. He particularly loved skiing and golf. He worked as a ski patrolman at Mt. Millicent. He spent many years as a ski instructor at the Gorgoza and Park City ski resorts. He was also able to golf some of the world’s greatest courses, including St. Andrews in Scotland, where the game was invented.

    He was married to Carolyn Jensen from 1955 to 1980. They had seven children and later divorced.

    Jack was preceded in death by twin daughters, Jenny and Heather, twin granddaughters, Amanda and Andrea, and son-in-law, Sam Winston. He was also preceded in death by siblings, Bonnie Hunter, Sherrell Kilgrow, Genevieve Kilgrow, Barbara Kilgrow, Margie Kilgrow, Joseph Kilgrow.

    He is survived by his sweetheart, Kathleen, 5 children from his previous marriage: Bret Kilgrow (Kathy), Lisa Winston, Jackie Matthews (Richard), Suzette Parkinson (Chris), Kelli Kilgrow, 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren (with 4 more on the way). He is also survived by his brother Raymond Kilgrow (Doris) and sister, Karene Hopkins.

    Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 29, 2021, at South Mountain 1st Ward building, 607 E. Rocky Mouth Lane, Draper Utah. A viewing will be held at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral services.

    Interment will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Larkin Sunset Gardens at 1958 E. 10600 S. in Sandy.
