Our sweet mom, friend, sister, and grandma, passed away suddenly on March 14, 2015. Carla Mae DeMill Palmer suffered from a swift, silent, and terminal cancer that was discovered only days before she died. We are heartbroken to see her go, and already miss her greatly. She loved her kids and grandkids, and made sure to let each one know how special they were to her. She never forgot birthdays or holidays, and always made sure to attend countless barbecues, dance recitals, awards ceremonies, etc. Her nieces and nephews all loved her as well. Her steadfast devotion to her family and friends was noticed and felt by everyone. She was a genuine and special lady.
Carla was born and raised in South Jordan, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mada Beckstead DeMill, Carl DeMill, and Carl Arnoldous, and brother, Gordon DeMill. She was married to David Lawrence Palmer for 26 years and raised five children in Sandy, Utah, then later divorced. She is survived by her children, Julie Huffaker (Steve), Barbi Rollins (Rich), Sarah Palmer (Glen), David Palmer (Heather), and Jacob Palmer (Laury). Twelve grandchildren. Siblings LaDonna Elkins (Jimmy), Lynn DeMill (Eva Jean), and Merlin DeMill (Cindy), and stepsister, Rozanne Mangum. Lifelong friend and soul sister, Virlene Gregson. Countless other family members and friends.
Viewing to be held on Friday, March 20th at Larkin Mortuary, 3688 W 12600 S, Riverton, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral service on Saturday, March 21st at LDS Church at 10124 S 1300 W. Viewing from 9:45am to 10:45 AM. Service beginning at 11:00am. Interment at South Jordan Cemetery.
