Eleanor B. Crowther

1920 ~ 2015

Eleanor Olson Blonquist Crowther , age 94, passed away in Sandy, Utah on January 6, 2015. Eleanor is survived by her brother Linne Olson and sister Elaine Welch, and sons Lawrence, James and Noel. Her daughter Vedana preceded her in death. Eleanor and her first husband, Blaine, have 120 descendants and with her second husband Lorin Crowther, she added 125 to her family.

Eleanor was born in Lyman, Wyoming on September 13, 1920. After graduating from High School in Lyman, she married her high school music teacher, Blaine Blonquist, on December 24, 1937.

Blaine's employment moved the family from Lyman, to Kemmerer, Wyoming (1942), Cheyenne, Wyoming (1945) and finally Ogden, Utah (mid 1960's). She was an "outstanding employee" in the Registrar's office at Weber State College from 1969-1979.

She served in her church in many capacities including Seminary Teacher, Stake Relief Society President, Ward and full-time missionary.

For years, Eleanor taught firesides on the Book of Mormon. A poet herself, she taught study groups on writing poetry.

Blaine, her first husband, died in 1971. Eleven years later she married Lorin Crowther, a widower from Harrisville, Utah where they lived for 14 years.

After Lorin's death, Eleanor moved to Sandy, Utah to be closer to the families of Vedana and Jim.

"Nana," will be missed by many.

Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.) in Sandy.
