Nadine Jacobson Gattenby

1944 ~ 2017

Nadine Jacobson Gattenby, 72, passed away peacefully in her home February 17, 2017.

She was born in Bingham Canyon, Utah to parents Anthon O. and Mafalda T. Jacobson on July 24, 1944. She was a real fire cracker and often bragged about having her very own parade on her birthday. She graduated from Jordan High School in 1962.

Nadine was a very strong willed and independent woman, who didn't hold back voicing her opinion. She was a hard worker, committed and determined. She retired from the JC Penney Shared Service Center in Salt Lake City, UT where she held various roles for 18 years. She met many friends there. Prior to working at JC Penney, she worked at Amaco Oil and International Trucking Company in Kansas City, MO.

Nadine loved nature and the outdoors. In her youth she spent time camping, fishing, snowmobiling, and skiing. She loved watching the weather and reporting it to friends and family. Nadine was a Girl Scout Leader for her daughter's troop, and a den mother for her son's Boy Scout troop. She loved crafting, especially card making.

She is survived by her daughter, Christine Bassett (Michael) and their daughter Tru; son, Michael Gattenby (Staci) and their children Zachary, Megan, Preston, and Michael; and her sister, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, cousins, and many friends.

You will forever be in our hearts Mom! Love you to the moon and back! And way more than M and M's.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary (1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd., Sandy, UT). A visitation will occur at the same location one hour prior to services.
