Our Sweet Mother and Grandmother, passed away September 12th, 2018 at her home, surrounded by the most important thing in her life, her family, and her ever present 4-legged companion, Jack. Born March 16th, 1935 in Gilmer Texas to Joseph Rogers and Signe Evelyn Smith. Married the Love of her Life, RaMar Joseph Ready on June 17th, 1953. They were sealed in the Jordan River Temple on May 8th, 2004.
Mom moved to Utah when she was five, but always considered herself a Texan at heart, an avid Dallas Cowboy fan to the very end. Mom never missed a family activity whether it be dance, sports, baptisms, weddings, birthdays, etc. She loved crafts, sewing, painting, especially with her daughter and granddaughter. If we saw a dress we liked, she would find a pattern and make it for us, we would wear it proudly. Mom was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many callings. She especially enjoyed serving as a Young Women's sports director and in the Relief Society.
Survived by her brother Dale (Carol) Smith, her children, JoLynne Ready Blackwood, Shannon (Stan) Hobbs, Cathy Duckworth, Steve (Marcy) Ready, 11 grandchildren and spouses and 27 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, RaMar, parents, Joseph Rogers and Signe Smith, brothers, Merlin and Milton Smith.
A viewing will be held Thursday, September 20th, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, Utah. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 21st, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Midvale 1st Ward, 308 West 7500 South, Midvale, Utah, with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to services. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
