Raymond Danford Ingersoll

1934 ~ 2018

Raymond Danford (Dan) Ingersoll, 84 passed away October 31, 2018 surrounded by so much love and family after a year long courageous battle with Melanoma and just 3 days after his best friend and "big\" brother Mel.

Born September 20, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles and Caroline Marie Jensen Ingersoll. The 8th born of 9 children.

He served our country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.

Married Wilma Deloris McCray October 2, 1959. They became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on March 7, 1969. Together they raised 6 strong children teaching them the value of hard work, integrity and kindness toward others. They were sealed together as a family on August 18, 1977. Wilma passed away March 13, 1998

He spent his life working hard as a masonry contractor to provide the best things life has to offer for his family. Many landmarks stand throughout the valley displaying his beautiful craftsmanship. As the Owner of Mid Valley Masonry, he employed many family members, neighbor kids, nephews and friends.

He loved to garden and was a Master Gardner sharing his knowledge and crops with those he loved.

Married Peggy Whyte Larson November 9, 2002 and gained 5 more children and 16 grandchildren. They loved to travel the world and enjoyed family history. Together they served a service mission at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Preceeded in death by his wife Wilma, his parents, 5 brothers, 2 sisters.

Survived by: Wife Peggy, her 5 children and families. His 6 children; Cindy (Scott) Reese, Gary (Jeannette) Ingersoll, Diana (Jim) May, Paula (Ted) Vanikiotis, Marianne (Scott) Rogers, Sandra (Jason) Erekson and grandchildren; Dan (Kathy), Annie (David), Laurie, Preston (Jessica), Morgan, Paden (Andee), TJ (Alexis), Chris (Karen), Nick, Audree, Mickelle, Samuel, and 14 great grandchildren. Also survived by his beloved sister Carol Rowley.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at the Country Park 6th Ward, 11200 South 2700 West beginning at Noon. A viewing will be held Monday night at the Larkin Mortuary in Riverton, 3688 West 12600 South from 6-8 pm, as well as Tuesday prior to services beginning at 11 am. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
