Our sweet Rose Archuleta Martinez, 78, passed away surrounded by many loved ones on May 10th, 2018. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Rose spent her life raising her daughter and two son, who she loved unconditionally. She was a very devoted grandmother and her grandchildren were truly the joys of her life that could do no wrong. She enjoyed nothing more than watching them play sports and was always their biggest cheerleader. She was an excellent housekeeper, cook, avid Jazz fan, and loved her Chinese food. Her porch was her favorite hangout, with her Diet Coke and video poker in hand. Her laugh was infectious and she was always a pleasure to be around. She was a very devoted Catholic. We are thankful Rose is now out of pain and is embracing her new beginning. We cherish her memory and lovingly reflect on the wonderful life she lead and all the good she did. She will be greatly missed.
Rose is survived by her caring, husband Adonias Martinez, her children Peggy (Bob) Avila, Frank Martinez, and Tobias Martinez. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Ashley Nichols, Robert (Cassidy) Avila, Tyler Avila, and Derrick Avila, her great-granddaughters: Kylie and Rixyn Rae. She is also survived by her kind and supportive sisters: Mary, Grace, Vera, Theresa, and brothers: Everett Jr, Jake. Her best friend and aunt, Theodora Pocheco, will always carry her in her heart. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Tommy and Gloria.
A celebration of Rose's life will be held on Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at Holladay Healthcare, 4782 South Holladay Blvd in Holladay, UT. Those who would like to share their happy memories of Rose, will be able to do so at that time. Immediately following, a light luncheon will be served.
