Boyd Garth Wilkinson

1942 ~ 2017

Boyd was born to Clarence and Clara Wilkinson in Salt Lake City Utah on January 2nd 1942. Growing up he loved playing on and around the creek behind his home, and barely let a broken arm slow him down. Boyd served an LDS mission to the Central states. On returning, he joined the Army Reserve, and learned many skills including becoming an expert marksman, which he held throughout his life despite little practice.

Boyd had an infectious laugh and always seemed to radiate a sense of love and wellbeing. He was always trying to help others, and many of the items he left behind were obtained to help others.

He worked hard all of his life. Boyd worked two jobs for much of his life. He was always working on ways to better his situation and his side projects were numerous, and some were immense. One time he heard that recycling locations paid a lot of money for paper, and collected almost 2 tons of it over a year or two. He also researched valuable antiques and spent time looking for treasures, and then researching what he found.

Family functions were a favorite, and Boyd tried to attend all he was invited to. He always brought joy when he did. He was always thinking of others, and asking what we thought \"so and so\" needed most.

Game nights with family were always a good time, playing games, building puzzles, munching, and talking about mostly nothing.

Sports were a particular love, and Boyd followed many teams using his radio and Sports Illustrated, however, he never let his love of sports get in the way of his interactions with people. Many who knew Boyd didn\t know of this passion because he put them first. He had a way of making many people feel special, and many have felt that they were his favorite.

Boyd\s health suffered greatly from his employment, knowledge was scarce for chemicals he used, and he ended up making chlorine gas on a daily basis. This gave him trouble with his lungs and general well being, but Boyd rarely mentioned it. He didn\t want to bother with doctors much either, and had to be convinced to make and keep doctor appointments.

Boyd is survived by his sister Kathryn \"Kathy\" Elmer (William), brother Bruce Wilkinson (Ruth), and many loving nieces nephews and their spouses. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Clara Wilkinson, and his brother Richard \"Dick\" Wilkinson (Kathleen).

Boyd passed away on June 24th 2017 at the age of 75 of natural causes while listening to his radio with snacks around him, he drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

The viewing and funeral will be held on July 3rd 2017 at the LDS chapel located at 755 East Three Fountains Circle, accessed from 9th east going west at three fountains. He will be interred at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery 106th South 1700 East, shortly after the service .
