Jesse J. Smith passed away on July 12, 2016 from natural causes. He was born on February 6, 1921 in Osawatomie, Kansas to Carrie A. and Woodson O. Smith. He married the love of his life, Frances Dallinga on February 2, 1941 in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Jesse had many accomplishments in his life which included, serving his country in the Navy and his exceptional truck driving skills. His hobbies were collecting coins, fishing, hunting, and he loved traveling in his motorhome. But to Jesse, family was everything! Both he and Frances had taught their boys how to work and be a man. He believed that if you do it right the first time then there is no need to do it again.
Jesse is survived by his wife Frances, sons Gerald (Peggy) and Michael, daughter-in-law Shayla, 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and 1 on the way. Preceded in death by his son Larry, daughter-in-law Judy and 2 great-grandsons.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 16, at 1:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy. Visitations will be held on Friday, July 15 from 6-8:00 p.m. and also from 12:00-12:45 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service, both held at the mortuary.
