West Jordan, UT —Merle Reid Meadows passed away February 10th, 2017, with her beloved granddaughter Myndi by her side. Merle was born May 20, 1928 in Midvale, Utah. She was born to William John and Jane Olive Powell Reid. She married Leonard Ronald Meadows (deceased) February 18th, 1947, shortly after she graduated from Jordan High School. They raised their 5 children in Cottonwood, Perry and West Valley Utah. Aside from being a devoted mother and grandmother, She was possibly Utah's #1 Jazz fan. She also enjoyed baking, bingo (O-75), crocheting and using her sharp witty mind to conquer her crosswords and daily quiz shows. Survived by; Twin sister Myrt Arko, daughter Karen Christensen (Curtis), 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Proceeded in death by; parents, husband, daughter Lynne (Mike) Mangum, sons Jay (Mary Ann), Daren (Terry), Mark (Cyndi Feller). Many thanks to the caregivers at Copper Ridge, for their 5 years of devoted care. Graveside services will be held Thursday February 16, 2017 beginning at 3 PM at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, located 1950 East Dimple Dell Road in Sandy. A visitation will be held prior at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary beginning at 1 PM.
