Ronald Leland Joseph

1918 ~ 2015

Ron passed away November 2, 2015 at Canyon Creek Care Center at the age 97. He was born October 25, 1918 in Birmingham, England. He married Dorothy Joan Howlett September 30, 1939. She passed away December 19, 1975. He then married Helen Levin Latimer May 7, 1976 in Ely, Nevada. Ron served in the British Army during World War II.

When he came to America he was a welder and worked through sheet metal local 312. He started working for the State of Utah 1970 as a safety inspector. He became Administrator of Utah OSHA in 1979 and retired in 1984. Ron and Helen loved to travel in their motor home. Ron was an avid photographer and took many pictures of their travels and many of family all his life. He was a very loving man and a gentleman.

Survived by his wife; Helen Joseph, sister; Mary Lambert, children; Carole Jackman (George) Ronald Wayne Joseph (Pat), step-children; Earl Latimer (Ruth), Michael Latimer (Laine), Jenean Tryon (Eldon), and Virgil Latimer (Ann). He is also survived by many grand, great-grand, and great-great grandchildren, as well as many nephews and nieces. He loved them all.

Preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Joan, brothers; Alvin W. Joseph, John Edward Joseph, and Stanley H. Joseph, brother-in-law; Raymond Lambert and step-son Bruce Latimer.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 9, 2015 at 11:00 am at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road, Sandy, Utah. There will be a viewing from 9:30 ‚ 10:45 am the same day. Interment will be in Elysian Burial Gardens.
