Robert Russell Roth

1940 ~ 2016

Robert Russell Roth passed away at home surrounded by family early Monday morning August 22, 2016. He was born November 29, 1940 in Los Angeles, California to Robert Raymond and June Wilda Sayan Roth and grew up in Arizona and California with his 2 sisters Maureen Goulding and Ronnie Roth. They were a loving family that became closer with each year that passed.

He was a convert to the LDS church as teenager. He chose to serve a mission in the North Mexico Mission to share his love for the gospel. The lessons and blessings of knowing Spanish served him well all of his life. He made friends and shared the gospel with many acquaintances throughout his entire life. Several non-member friends he met at random places would call regularly with questions about religion.

He met his sweetheart Beverly Rae Skeem at BYU and they married August 29, 1970 in the Manti Temple. They were blessed with 4 children, Joseph William (Katie) Roth, James Robert Roth, Jennifer Lynn (John Mark) Allen, and Susannah (Devin) Hargis. The blessings continued with 11 grandchildren Alex, Asia, Jennavry, Jaylynn, Alli, Thomas, Ady, Cambria, Heimee, William and Averie. They were the light and love of his life. His biggest regret was that the youngest, Averie, was not old enough to remember him and he wanted to see them all grow up and bloom like the flowers they are. Even though he is gone we know that each grandchild will have a special angel watching over them.

He was a talented humourist and very educated man. His college degree was history, a love of learning about those who came before He also taught drivers training and then went on to a career in building maintenance and repair. He could fix anything and was called on day and night to help those in need. He did it out of the love of his heart for all needing help after he retired. That was the giving type of person he was. He spent many hours doing service for the disabled repairing whatever they needed. They called him "Bob the Builder". He trained as an EMT. He loved helping at girl's camp and often saved the day with his repair work. Like one of his favorite characters Mcgyver, he found a way to fix anything.

He is survived by wife Beverly, his children and grandchildren, sisters Maureen (Jerry) Goulding and Ronnie Roth.

He has blessed lives of many people and still has a powerful influence of faith and love that continues on.

Dad we will always miss and always love you but we all know you will keep your eye on us forever and be close to us and we know you will be ready to greet us when it is our time to come back home and re-unite as a family eternally.

Funeral service will be held 10 AM Saturday August 27, 2016 at Winder West 4th Ward building 951 East 3825 South, Salt Lake City, Utah with viewing the night before from 6 to 8 PM and at 9 AM the morning of the funeral at the same location.
