Suzanne (Susan) Elizabeth Perry May, age 98, died September 3, 2018 while in hospice care at St. Joseph's Villa Nursing Home of Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born June 26, 1920 in Minot, North Dakota to Mary Kerchenko Branesky and Paul Branesky. She resided in Minot during her childhood. She later met and married CPL Howard Perry and then moved to Hazel Park, Michigan where they resided for several years. Howard received a job offer from the U. S. Navy prompting their next move to San Leandro, California to work at the US Navy's Alameda Naval Station. They had two children (Dennis Perry of Elsie, Michigan and Valerie Perry of Sorrento, Florida). Howard passed away on November 15, 1961. Susan and her children then moved back to Michigan where she worked doing home nursing through the Adventist church.
In 1990, she married Harold E May of Salt Lake City, Utah. They commuted back and forth from Michigan to Utah and later remained in Utah permanently for many years. They often traveled to see friends and family throughout the United States. Harold died August 18, 2013. Susan remained at home in Salt Lake City until she moved to St. Joseph's Villa care facility in September 2017.
She is survived by a son, Dennis (Janice) Perry and daughter Valerie Irene Perry; stepdaughter Kathy Anne May (Steve) Christensen, stepson Lewis Neldon (Connie) May; 2 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The family would like to thank their mother's dear friends Karen Bray, Evon Webb and Susan Gibb for their kindness in bringing tasty food and treats to brighten her day throughout the past few years. A special thanks to dear neighbors Lillian Drake and Hal Peacock for all their caring help.
