Terry Lynn Clark

1963 ~ 2017

Terry Lynn Clark, our father, grandpa, son, and brother, passed away peacefully in his home on May 27, 2017 in Magna, Utah.

Dad was born on May 30, 1963, in Murray, Utah, to parents Ron and Elaine Clark. He was the third of seven children, and would often find time to get into trouble with his older brother Kelly, or give one of his five sisters grief, as brothers so often do. Stories abound of mischievous adventures, but he always looked out for others; a personality trait that would follow him in life. He joined the military after attending Kearns High School, serving his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Tripoli and USS Tarawa, stationed out of San Diego, California. He married Nancy Lambourne, and together they had a son, Dan Michael.

Dad worked in several industries after leaving the service, including manufacturing and mining. He was most recently employed with Sleep Number and Rio Tinto. One constant throughout his career was his attention and care for others. Although he was never afraid to speak his mind, he found time to help coworkers who were new or struggling. He felt a need and duty to ensure the well-being of friends and family.

He found passion in music, cars, sports, and family. His favorite music was classic rock, particularly Def Leppard. He never missed a concert, and always had a shirt to go with them. Dad loved working on his 1968 Camaro, watching classic films (which he claimed meant Smokey and the Bandit and Strange Brew), and rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Sundays in the fall meant hanging out with his son, watching football from sun up to sundown.

His greatest joy came from making memories with his family, particularly his beloved granddaughters: Kamri, Avery, and Brynlee. They were his life. Not long after their arrival, it became apparent that he wasn't coming over on Sundays to watch football with his son, but to see his favorite little redheads. The former Harley-riding tough guy learned all about dance, dolls, and Care Bears, spending every moment he could soaking up their affection and love while he colored with them, cooked for them, attended recitals, or played board games. He was a devoted father-in-law, taking an interest in his daughter-in-law Kathleen's hobbies, including crafting, decorating, and bands he'd never heard before… with mixed results. This loss leaves a hole in our hearts, but also countless memories of joy, love, and devotion.

Terry is survived by his son Dan (Kathleen) Lambourne, granddaughters Brynlee, Avery, and Kamri Lambourne, parents Ron and Elaine Clark, siblings Lynda Steadman, Kelly (Jeanine) Clark, Rhonda (John) Voitl, Kim Egbert, Pam (Mike) Daly, and Penny (Travis) Willson, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by brothers-in-law Tony Steadman and Wes Egbert.

A Celebration of Life will be held onSaturday, June 10from3 ‚ 5 pmat The Ridge Golf Club, 5055 South West Ridge Blvd in West Valley. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to one of Dad's favorite organizations, the Wounded Warrior Project.

We love you, Dad.
