George \"Scotty\" Sinclair

1936 ~ 2016

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle returned home to our Heavenly Father on Monday, October 3rd, 2016. Scotty was born in Glasgow Scotland on November 25th, 1936 to Doris Clark Sinclair and George Sinclair. As a young lad he moved to the United States with his mother and sister, Betty. He enjoyed many sports such as football, wrestling, hockey, and soccer.

George met his sweetheart Kathy Luckau in Salt Lake City, Utah. The two were married in 1959 and later sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. George and Kathy were blessed with two daughters: Cindy (Robert) Benson, Tamie (Fred) Phizacklea, and six grandchildren: Ryan (Amy) Benson, Jamie Benson, Tabatha Benson, Amanda (Jerrik) Page, Scott Phizacklea, and Randy Phizacklea. He loved his family and was very proud of all of them. He glowed every time he talked about them.

George worked for the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office for over 38 years where he was a decorated officer that received many awards and commendations. He loved to tell jokes and stories that would make people laugh. The one thing everyone always remembers about George was his strong, firm, grip whenever he gave a handshake.

He has touched the lives of many and so very loved. He will be missed by all, especially his wife, sisters (Betty Bernston and Heather Griffith), children, and grandchildren. George is preceded in death by his parents, brother, and many other loved ones. We would like to give a special thanks to Jeremy Boctcher RN and Dr. Schellenberg for their loving and attentive care and to the Unified Police Department for their help with the services.

We love you, and we can't wait to see you again!

In lieu of flowers please donate to Kathy Sinclair at Heritage West Credit Union to help alleviate funeral costs.
