Jean L. Dickson, 95, passed away at home on August 23, 2017. Jean was one of three children born to Franklin Ralph Lewis and Martha Lucy Kaufmann in Paris, Idaho.
Jean married Jack Lane and had two sons, Kenneth and Robert, they were later divorced. She remarried Jack Albert Dickson in 1953 and they remained married until his death in 1996.
Jean and Jack were passionate about traveling and went on many trips, nearly covering the globe, the United States, Mexico and Canada. They also loved hosting dinner clubs and socializing and playing cards with their many friends.
Jean was a proud member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and a faithful member of the LDS Church, where she served in many callings.
She took great pride in in her home, which was always immaculate. Her needlework, crocheted blankets and afghans were works of art. She was a devoted UTES fan and Christmas Eve won't be the same anymore without her ham, beans, potato salad and cinnamon jello. Her love of candy and sweets was legendary. Jean was the world's biggest sweet tooth (but do not ever give her green beans)!
Jean is survived by sons Kenneth and Robert (Amy), eleven beloved grandchildren: Debi Lane, Sheri Amundson, Chris Lane, Nicole Lane, Eric Lane, Steven Tate (Brent Fryhoff), Nicholas (Shamis), Clinton Tate (Natalie), Amanda Weston (David), Michaela Tate and Spencer Tate. She also leaves behind seven great grandchildren and one on the way: Amber Wendel (Alex), Lily McNeil, Maya Tate, Lily Tate, Kailey Tate, Madison Tate, and Cameron Tate. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews and many close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Velma Hansen and Grant Lewis, husband Jack Dickson and adored daughter Sally Jo Dickson Tate.
The family wishes to thank the Olympus 4th Ward Relief Society for their assistance, as well as Caregiver Support Network for their compassionate care during Jean's final years.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Olympus 4th Ward, 2675 East, 4430 South, Holladay, UT. Viewings will be held Friday, September 1 from 6-8 pm and Saturday, September 2, from 11 am-12 noon at the church.
Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
