Norman G. Frantz

1932 ~ 2014

Norman G. (Bud) Frantz, age 82, passed away at his home in South Jordan, Utah on November 1, 2014. Born August 25, 1932 in Kamas, Utah to Ted and Elsie Frantz. He graduated from South Summit High School in 1950. Married Collene Annette Moulton on February 14, 1951. Together they had 5 daughters.

Bud was a veteran of the Korean War serving 4 years in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1956 on a destroyer ship as a gunners mate and continued his service in the reserves for 4 more years. He was an avid horseman belonging and competing in riding clubs on his mare Sis. He enjoyed camping, fishing, watching bull riding, horse pulling and listening to old country music. He grew beautiful gardens that he shared with family and friends. Bud worked many different jobs including the mines and as a foreman at Hercules and Deseret Pharmaceutical. Owned and operated Oakcrest Riding Stables in Draper for 5 years. He was a pipe fitter for 10 years out of Local 57 (changed to 140).

Survived by his wife, daughters Annette (Lynn) Smith, Karma Roberts, Sandra (Kelly) Savage, Lesa (Tracy) Davis and Susan (Jeff, deceased) Sperry, 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren that he loved so much. Also survived by siblings Morris Frantz and Rowene VanTassell. Preceded in death by parents, sisters Wilma Vawdrey and Mona Lemon, brother Reed and a son in law Jefferey Sperry. He will be greatly missed by many people.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy.
