Geraldine Hay Kelly

1930 ~ 2017

Geraldine Hay Kelly, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and wife, passed away November 15, 2017 at the age of 87.

Gerry was born September 4, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Leland Franklin Hay and Gwendolyn Simmons. She graduated from East High School and attended the University of Utah, where she affiliated with the Alpha Phi sorority. On June 13, 1951 she married Robert Elmer Kelly in Salt Lake City and they began their adventure together making their home in Tennessee, California and eventually returning to Utah. Gerry's days were filled caring for her family and friends, working alongside Bob at Kelly Company, attending U of U sporting events, traveling, knitting, skiing, bowling, golfing and mostly just enjoying all people. A lifelong member of the LDS Church, she especially enjoyed teaching in the primary. Hers was a unique and special ability to love and lift all who crossed her path. Although no stranger to challenge and personal loss, she never complained but rather always generously shared her smiles and open heart with others.

Gerry is survived by her sister Carolyn Garff, daughters Judy Anderson and Kathy (John) Zarbock, 8 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob.
