John Stoker Mathis

1934 ~ 2013

John Stoker Mathis our beloved father, Papa, mentor and friend, passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 78 after spending one more wonderful day with his beloved wife Patricia of 59 years.

He was born in Price, UT to George Macfarlane, and Anna Frances Stoker Mathis. He married Patricia Jean McCourt on April 9, 1954 in Sunnyside, UT; later solemnized November 8, 1957 in the Los Angeles temple.

John loved Pat! He loved his entire family, the gospel, his cabin, boating, skiing, hiking with the grandkids, Abbey Carpet, reading, history, crunching numbers, singing, music, sweets, genealogy, documentaries, roads less traveled, the farm, news radio, computers, reunions, honesty, teaching, college football games, integrity, learning, mentoring, military books and movies, and being home.

A successful businessman for many years; that was his passion. Helping people be successful in their businesses was one of his greatest joys and satisfactions. He will be missed by many business associates; most, if not all of whom, were truly his friends.
