Lona Lucie Justine Rimmasch Peterson, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 5th. Lucie was born November 22, 1920 in Königsberg, East Prussia, to Franz and Bertha Rimmasch. She had three wonderful brothers: Helmuth and Heinz (deceased) and Ben (Verda) of Salt Lake City. Her family joined the LDS church and eventually immigrated to Salt Lake City in 1925. She married Richard G. Peterson in the Salt Lake temple on her 19th birthday in 1939 and they enjoyed 74 anniversaries together. Lucie and Dick were blessed with three children: Sandra (William Black), David G., and Linda (Dan Howells), and 21 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her great granddaughter Hanna Elizabeth Peterson. All were loves of her life.
Her years were filled with love, music, joy, family, friends and all the grand things of life. Who could ask for more? She recently wrote, \"I will miss you all and I thank you for your love!!!\"
The family wishes to thank Envision Hospice, especially Korin who gave her such tender care and also the staff at Summerfield.
In lieu of flowers Lucie would be pleased if you desire to donate to the LDS Missionary or Humanitarian fund.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 12th at 10 am with the funeral at 11 am, all held at Larkin Sunset Gardens - 1950 E Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S) Sandy, UT.
