Our beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, Craig Eugene Ludwig, age 56, passed away on February 11, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
Craig was born on June 10, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Paul Eugene Ludwig and Shannon Stewart Ludwig. He was the oldest of four children. Craig dearly loved his siblings, Kathleen (David) Miner, Brian (Laura), and Howard.
Craig graduated from Granite High School in 1976 and from the University of Utah with a Bachelors of Arts in 1983 and a Masters in Public Administration in 1987.
On November 11, 1981 Craig married his eternal companion, Paula Shewell in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had a wonderful and blessed life together for 33 years. His legacy and life is carried on by their four valiant sons, Matthew (Beatriz), Stewart (fiancée, Lisa), Parker and William who is currently serving in the Colombia, Cali Mission.
Craig was a strong and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many capacities. Craig served in the Finland Helsinki Mission in 1977-1979.
Craig had a long career working for the State of Utah-Third District Court. He cherished the association he enjoyed with his colleagues.
Craig was known by many as the \"Miracle Man.\" He endured more health trials in this life than any one person should. He did all that he could to remain in this life to care for his family and yet he was at peace with the knowledge that his life was in the Lord\s hands.
Craig was an extremely strong man physically, mentally and spiritually. And yet, he was never one to draw attention to himself. He was a hard worker and took the time to instill those qualities in his sons. A totally devoted husband and father, he provided a good life for his family.
Craig is survived by his wife, children, mother and siblings along with beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father and grandparents Eugene and Lola Ludwig and John and Lavon Stewart.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 12 noon at the Yalecrest I Ward, 1035 South 1800 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. Viewings will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2015, 6-8 pm at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah and Thursday at the church 10:30-11:30 am prior to services.
