LaMar L. Jenkins

1953 ~ 2018

A good man died too early. LaMar L. Jenkins passed away peacefully Saturday, August 18, 2018 surrounded by his family. His presence and influence will truly be missed by all those who knew him.

LaMar was born August 31, 1953 in Salt Lake City, UT to Leland Jenkins and Margaret Beynon. He graduated from West High School in 1971. He married his high school sweetheart Rochelle Mitchell July 19, 1971 and they were later sealed as a family in the Salt Lake Temple on January 22, 1988. He is survived by his wife Rochelle; children and their spouses: Angie and Kim Lund, Mac and Tricia Jenkins; grandchildren: Mitchell, Madison and Tanner Erickson, Cameron, Addison, and Collin. Also, his sister Jackie Gilbert and step-father Adolph and Judy Marquez; sister-in-law and her spouse Jedene and David Peck. He was preceded in death by: his parents, older brother Shane, sister VaLane and his infant son Leland Jed.

LaMar's greatest joy in life was his family and helping and serving others. He loved spending time in the outdoors, off-roading, hunting, and attending his grandkids' activities. One of his many talents was his ability to fix and improve just about anything, which was a blessing to many.

LaMar loved his church and served in many different capacities. He was currently serving on the High Council in the West Jordan Mountain Shadows Stake.

Friends and family are invited to attend his viewing at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary (1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. Sandy, UT 84092) on Tuesday, August 21st from 6:00 p.m. ‚ 8:00 p.m. With a graveside service to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22nd at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mac Jenkins, Collins Jenkins, Kim Lund, Mitchell Lund, Cameron Lund, Tanner Erickson, Jim Day, Dave Peck, Dean Capson, Larry Walters and Allen Arko.
