Maxine Kaufman Van Patten

1920 ~ 2018

Maxine Kaufman was born in Providence, Utah. She grew up in Cache Valley and graduated from Logan High School. She moved to Salt Lake and lived with her mother while working in a restaurant.

Maxine met and married Raymond Baxter in 1938 in Salt Lake City. From that marriage came her two sons, Dale and Jerry. Ray died in 1953. She married Eldon Van Patten in 1956. They moved to Olympus Cove. Later moved to South Jordan so they could raise horses. Van's employment led them out of state. After selling most of the farm they moved to Casper, WY. After retirement they moved back to South Jordan where they lived until Van's death.

The last few years, Maxine resided at Legacy Retirement Residence in South Jordan. She loved the people and the activities at Legacy.

Maxine loved her family. She enjoyed gardening, all flowers, especially roses. She loved the outdoors, nature and the wild animals.

She bowled until 2010 when she was 92. She missed spending time with the girls.

She is survived by her 2 sons and their wives; grandmother of 9, great-grandmother of 30, and great-great-grandmother of 3.

We will all miss her!
