Mehrdad Rahbari

1954 ~ 2019

In Loving Memory of Mehrdad Rahbari who died peacefully in his sleep surrounded by Amalia, his wife and Monet, his daughter on the 10th of October 2019 in Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of 65.

Mehrdad is survived by his wife, Amalia; children, Marizsa, Amir, Monet; siblings, Manijeh, Monireh, Manoochehr, Mojtaba, Mohsen. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Mahin and Mostafa.

Mehrdad was born on the 26th of June 1954 in Tehran, Iran to Mahin Salimpour and Mostafa Rahbari. He welcomed his angelic first daughter, Marizsa in May of 1982. He met his soulmate in Walnut Creek, California in 1993 and married Amalia Aslanians in October of that same year. Over the next 6 years, the couple welcomed 2 beautiful children into their home and Mehrdad set about teaching them music, love and friendship. His children remember him as a kind, gentle, patient, driven, curious and magical father who encouraged them to pursue their dreams and talents.

Mehrdad was accomplished at music and art. He had a gift for making people smile when he smiled and often reminded everyone he knew that he always had an open door for anyone who wanted to learn. He was a generous, witty, and dedicated individual who loved the spiritual aspect of this universe and was passionate about changing the world by sharing music and giving lessons. He believed music and friendship was all you ever needed to crack a smile. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Funeral Services will take place on Friday, October 18, 2019 @ 2:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Lawn Chapel, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84108, (801) 582-1582 with a viewing to take place just prior to the service from 1:00-1:45 pm. All family and close friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Mehrdad's life. Condolences can be sent directly to the family.
