Robert Ray Jensen

1937 ~ 2019

Robert Ray Jensen, 81, died 29th July 2019 at his home in Sandy Utah. Services will be held August 5, 2019 at the Sego Lily Ward Building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (9824 S. Flint Dr., Sandy, Utah). Viewing commences at 9:30 am, services at 11:00 am. Interment will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery located at 1950 E Dimple Dell Rd. Sandy, Utah.

Robert "Bob" was born November 3, 1937 in Salt Lake City Utah. His father Robert Allen and Elzina Glenn Jensen raised him in the Kimberly/Twin Falls Idaho area. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served a full-time mission to the Western States Mission. Bob and Lois were married in the Salt Lake Temple March 29, 1962. With a strong testimony of Jesus Christ, he enjoyed reading and studying the gospel with his eternal companion and sweetheart Lois, of 57 years. He served 16 years as an Explorer Scout leader with major accomplishments of taking his troop on high adventure trips to Hawaii and white water rafting down the Salmon River in Idaho. He served his country in the army reserves for 6 years. Most of his working life was spent farming in Murtaugh and Jerome Idaho and later as a General Contractor building residential homes. Bob later obtained his realtor license specializing in farms and ranches. After moving to Salt Lake City in 1988, he held several sales positions selling automated conveyor and material handling systems. As an outdoorsman and hobbyist, his favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, wood carving, gardening, and making canes and walking sticks for family and friends.

A dedicated family man, Robert is survived by: His wife Lois, and four children: Tracy, Daren, Kathryn, and Jeffrey. His family legacy includes a growing list of 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren with 3 more on the way.
