1940 ~ 2025
Barbara Jeanne Beerman, known to most simply and lovingly as “Mom,” passed away peacefully at home on December 10, 2025 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was 85 years young.
Barbara was born on March 28, 1940, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She spent her early years in Minneapolis, where her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit began to shine. In 1961, she married the love of her life, Brian Beerman, and together they built a beautiful life and family. Their journey together was filled with love, adventure, and a shared joy of travel that took them across the world. Throughout it all, Barbara remained Brian’s devoted travel partner, best friend, and constant support.
She attended the University of Minnesota and over the years worked in various supportive roles, always bringing diligence, warmth, and grace to everything she did. But Barbara’s true calling was caring for her family and creating a home filled with love, laughter, and delicious food.
A woman of faith, Barbara was actively involved in her church and women’s groups. She was known for her generosity, her quick wit, and her endless love of cooking, sewing, and any project that brought her closer to her loved ones. Her recipes—each one tied to a family story or tradition—have become treasures passed down through generations.
Barbara is survived by her adored husband Brian of 64 years, her sons Bob (Jill) Beerman, with grandchildren Alexis, Brooke, and Jade, and five beautiful great-grandchildren; Bill (Andrea) Beerman, with grandchildren Katie, Samantha, Emma, Gracie, and Halle, and three wonderful great-grandchildren; and her daughter Becky (Dave) Wortley, with grandchildren Megan and Mitch and siblings Wayne Olson, Tim Olson and Jacki Olson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Dolores Olson, and her beloved sister, Romaine Olson.
Special thanks to London Davis and Blaire Shumway of Huntsman at Home Hospice for their loving care and compassion. Donations to your favorite charities in her memory are encouraged.
Barbara’s legacy—her kindness, perseverance, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends—will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. A private family service is planned, and a Celebration of Life will be held in early 2026.
We were so fortunate to have Barb in our lives. We have many memories of our times together, and we are glad to be part of the Beeman family. Barb was such a sweet, caring, fun woman, and she will be truly missed.
