Beatrice Jackson White
In Loving Memory of a Remarkable Woman
February 19, 1930 – Oct 8, 2025
You’d almost always find her on her front porch, maybe humming a tune, maybe tapping her foot as she played her harmonica, or maybe just watching the world go by with that familiar sparkle in her eye. Her porch was a place everyone was welcome, a place where stories were told, memories were made, laughter was shared, and time seemed to slow down just enough to forget the rush of life.
Born on February 19th, 1930, Beatrice Jackson White, lived 95 wonderful years, each one filled with strength, love, and a dash of mischief. She was a woman who did things her own way, who found beauty in everyday life, and meaning in hard work. She raised 7 children, loved 37 grandchildren, and still had room in her heart for 72.5 great-grandchildren.
She spent her summers canning in her kitchen, rows of jars glistening like little jewels on the counter. Each one made with love, a lot of sass, and saved to be gifted at Christmas. Music, family, and food were her languages, and she spoke them fluently. From her Rose Park neighborhood to her Wayne County stomping grounds, she touched the hearts of everyone she met, welcoming them with her warm smile and quick wit.
She never liked the word “good-bye”, we weren’t allowed to say it when leaving her house on a Sunday evening gathering. Instead, she’d smile, maybe give a little wink, and say “windowsill.” It was her way of reminding us that love doesn’t end, it just moves, like sunlight across a room.
Although she leaves behind a legacy that’s felt in the laughter of her family, the songs that echo in our hearts, the simple moments on a front porch, and a love we’ll feel each day of our lives, we are happy to know she was greeted at the gates of heaven by so many who couldn’t be more excited to see her again. Greeted with open arms by her beloved husband Lynn O White, her best friend and sister Viola, and her 7 other siblings, from her parents to the many friends who have been waiting to welcome her with warm hugs. We can only imagine the music, laughter, and love filling heaven as she’s welcomed by her Lord and Savior as he looks her in the eyes and tells her she’s home.
So as we read this with the many fond memories you’ve left us with, we aren’t saying good-bye, grandma, just windowsill. Until we meet again.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your amazing family. We love you
I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. Bee was always so good and kind to me and would bring a smile to my face. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I know she is so happy to be with your dad again. Love all of you!
The words her granddaughter wrote were so much like Mrs. White. And made me cry remembering her on her front porch. Many times I would go over and visit her on her porch .
She was such an awesome neighbor. We have been neighbors for over 35 years. My family are really going to miss her.
Lots of LOVE for our favorite Aunt Beatrice. We were so sad that we were unable to attend her funeral service and visit with family, but are so grateful for modern technology that we were able to see and watch her amazing family pay tribute to her. We have many memories through the years, one of our favorite was when we were newlyweds expecting our first child and your sweet parents gave up there bedroom for us to spend a night at the White House and would not take no for an answer. What special people!
