1943 ~ 2025
Listen to Obituary
Carl John Wall Jr., 81 years old, was born on August 12, 1943, in Robertson, Wyoming. He passed away peacefully with family at his side on June 22, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Growing up in Fort Bridger, Wyoming, he spent time hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. He graduated from Mountain View High School where he enjoyed playing football and basketball.
He proudly served his country in the Vietnam war as a soldier in the United States Army. After the war he moved to Salt Lake City, where he raised his family of five children and worked as a diesel mechanic. There were many fun times, boating, fishing, and camping with the family. As his kids grew up, he spent many years coaching youth sports. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sports and performances and loved teaching them how to fish. He cheered for the Utah Utes, although the Wyoming Cowboys always remained his number one team. Later in life, one of the things he really enjoyed was going to Wyoming Downs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl John Wall Sr and Iona Martha Hayward, and sister Neta Arthur and brother-in-law Kay Gross. He is survived by sisters Nona Gross and Martha (Kelly) Powers, brother Charlie (Tina) Clifford, his children Carlene (Lynda) Wall, Dave (Debbie) Wall, Alan (Paola) Wall, Christina (David) Garff, and Tim (Tami) Wall, as well as his 10 Grandchildren and 13 Great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the amazing staff at the William E. Christoffersen Salt Lake Veterans Home for the wonderful care and kindness that he received.
At his request, a private family service will be held to honor his life.
