Craig was born in Salt Lake City on February 15, 1945, to Clyde and Betty Anderson. He graduated high school and attended college at Westminster as well as the University of Utah. Craig was married to Louise Redmond Anderson on April 1, 1970. They shared 55 wonderful years of life together.
Craig worked in the airline industry for 35 years at both Western Airlines and Delta Airlines. When he was asked what he did he would reply "Everything but fly them or fix them." He was based at the Salt Lake Airport for that entire time.
Craig loved his family, his dogs, playing golf, and flying remote controlled airplanes. He tolerated yard work but took pride in his beautifully manicured yard. He had numerous friends and loved ones and was always ready to lend a hand or give advice when asked. He will be sorely missed around the neighborhood, the golf course and especially at home.
Three things he thoroughly enjoyed were watching his grandsons play Lacrosse at Juan Diego High School, flying remote controlled airplanes with Intermountain Silent Flyers and golfing with the Senior league at Mick Riley Golf Course.
Craig is survived by his wife, Louise, sons Bret (Katherine) and Brad (Kaylene) and three grandsons William (23), Jacob (21) and Maddax (7).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Joyce Anderson and his older brother, Steven.
Friends may pay respects from 6pm to 8pm Tuesday, on January 6, 2026 at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages friends and family to share a favorite memory of Craig in the online guest book.
Dad,
I will miss you beyond measure. I am grateful for your guidance, encouragement and careful critique. I know you always had the best intentions and sought to build Bret and me to stand on our own. Despite that, you were our father first and just wanted to give us the best you could. Something I did not appreciate until becoming a dad myself. Thank you. I will miss you, I will miss being able to call you for help. Nothing can replace that.
"Andy" was always happy and a calm coworker.
Sorry to hear of his passing.
A great person.
Andy, you were a great guy to work with at WA/DL, always a hard worker and a decent person. My husband and I both enjoyed working with you, both on the ramp and in passenger service. Enjoyed countless coffee breaks, sitting upstairs on the old "C" concourse. My sincere sympathy for your family.
Craig's Poem of Condolence
By Sheila Anderson
Brother, Husband, Father, Friend-
Craig's greatest life has reached its end.
Though deeply loved and dearly missed,
He's held now in a gentler mist.
A man whose life showed integrity,
Now steps beyond, to eternity.
Our hearts will always hold his place
Until we feel his warm embrace.
Rest now, Craig, your journey's done-
In peace and love and light, be one.
Focus--Aim--Swing!
Your Golfing Teammates Forever
Drew & Chris
Brother,
You're a brother that I have looked up to as a role model. You have been there at times that I needed brotherly direction. I have looked forward to and appreciated the time we have shared together. Time spent going golfing, the many dinners, car shows and just getting together.
You have given me goals to work toward, being as good of a golfer as you for one!
You will be greatly missed.
Until we meet again!
Your Golfing Buddy
Drew
I love playing golf with you and Louise in our Senior Golf League. We had a lot of fun and laughs kiding around on the course. Early in the season this year you won an envelope of money and I carried in my briefcase most of the time. Until I saw Louise and gave it to her to give to you. We kidded around about her running off with the winnings, but as you know she would have gotten far on ten dollars. My friend you were always supprised each time I would give you an envelope, you were very humble about your ability on the course. We both knew however that you carried a nine handicap for nine holes because you were a good golfer. I will surely miss you my friend and the joy you brought into my life. RIP
Though we were only neighbors for a year or so, Craig was a very helpful and caring person to us. He, along with his wonderful wife Louise, made us feel extremely welcome in our new home and neighborhood.
We were deeply saddened to hear of Craig's passing and will miss our neighborly chats. We send our condolences and prayers to his family during this trying time.
Sorry to hear of Craig's passing. Lot's of great times were spent in our younger days, fishing, boating and hunting along with many years together in the airline industry. Craig was very particular and accomplished in all of his adventures in life. I will always have found memories of Craig, Clyde and Steve.
Craig was a joy to have as a member in our club. He was forever fascinated flying radio controlled gliders and loved the serenity that he found in the hobby.
Craig was always willing to help club members build their models and teaching them to fly. He served multiple times as an officer in the club as well as managing operations in our Soar Utah events.
I will sorely miss flying with Craig, seeing him at the flying field, but above all, I'll miss him as a friend. Until we meet again.
Growing up I remember Uncle Craig as a mostly quiet but super nice guy. I knew he worked hard at the airport and always had a fantastic yard. He seemed to be organized and liked building things. I thought Uncle Craig could fix anything. I remember him fixing some cabinets in the kitchen for Aunt Louise at their old house near Liberty Park. Uncle Craig was always reading about something interesting or learning some new skill. He was a great conversationalist, and he knew a lot about many things. He was a curious, lifelong learner with a lot of insight and life experience.
As I look back and think about Uncle Craig, the quality I appreciated most was his ability to be a good friend. He could talk to anyone and help them feel included. Uncle Craig was exceptionally kind and made an effort to help our spouses feel welcomed to the family when they married into the craziness of the Redmond clan. Uncle Craig was a supportive dad and husband, but he was also a intelligent, helpful, loyal man and friend who served his family, friends and community. I'll miss his quick wit, laugh, and insight into the complexities of life. Heaven has gained an exceptional addition. We'll miss you Uncle Craig!
Dear Anderson Family—especially Louise, Brad, and Bret,
We extend our deepest condolences to you on the passing of your beloved husband and father, Craig. Julynn and I truly valued our association with him. Every time we spent time with Craig, he was kind, warm, and a genuine joy to be around.
We are deeply grateful for the example he set as a father and for the role he played in shaping “Funcle” Brad into such an incredible person. Craig’s influence and goodness were clearly felt and will continue to live on through those he loved and taught.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. We pray that you feel comfort, peace, and the love of our Heavenly Father around you.
With love,
Joe and Julynn Ordyna Family
My deepest condolences on your loss, Louise.
I remember Uncle Craig having a twinkle in his eye, so I always thought he was up to something. In hindsight sight he probably was, probably scheming on how to keep us Redmond nieces and nephews in line. He mastered the perfect amount of fear/respect and humor/fun.
I looked up to his organization, love of planes, and his well kept yard. After becoming a bit more mature myself I really enjoyed Uncle Craig’s sense of humor, his little chuckle and his smile. He was so good to us and our families. Christmas white elephant parties at Louise and Craig’s house hold a special place in my heart. We shared lots of laughter and great food.
I have so many good childhood memories… and grateful no one got in too much trouble at the liberty park house when someone clogged the toilet with a napkin full of peas!
My heart aches for all of us, his passing is a big loss. I will miss his wit, his smile and his good will. May these good memories be a balm to his most loved - Louise, Bret, Brad and families. My love to each of you!
Craig was a master handy man and we always went to him for advice about our home and garden. He watched over our house while we were on our mission and saved our basement from being flooded. He believed in the adage that "Anything worth doing is worth doing well". He was a great friend and we will miss him a lot. We couldn't have asked for a better neighbors than Craig and Louise. Our prayers are with Louise.
