Dear friends and loved ones,
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we share the news of Davis Turner's passing at the age of 24 on Thursday, April 16, 2026. Davis was surrounded by immense love, and he transitioned peacefully from the embrace of his parents into the arms of his Savior after bravely battling Batten Disease. We are incredibly proud of Davis for the joy, courage, and unwavering faith with which he approached life. Davis was cherished by his parents, and his unique spirit will be deeply missed. The joy-filled memories Davis created will remain in their hearts for many years to come.
Davis lived at home in Herriman, Utah with his parents, Tina and Jarom Turner, and brothers Brock and Clint. His extended family was an important part of Davis’s life, and we are grateful for the love and care they offered him in return. Davis was born in Cary, NC and spent time in Franklinton, NC. Hiram, GA. Castle Rock, CO. and Quincy, WA. forming many lasting friendships along the way.
Davis’s radiant presence touched everyone around him. He possessed a deep and abiding faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ, and loved attending church with family and ward congregations. Davis’s joyful singing of hymns inspired all who heard him. His love for people was boundless—if you were fortunate enough to be loved by Davis, you truly felt it. Davis’s hugs were legendary, his smiles infectious, and his laughter contagious.
There were many activities that brought Davis happiness. He enjoyed UFC fights and NASCAR races with his dad, and treasured moments holding hands with his mom while watching television and movies. Favorites included The Polar Express, Toy Story, and classic Disney films. Davis’s spirit would shine as he sang along with The Wiggles, and his enthusiasm for LDS General Conference and saying “Amen” at church was endearing.
Davis shared a special bond with his younger sister, Ashlyn, who preceded him in death. Davis kept Ashlyn’s memory alive by saying her name every day since her passing. Davis was also a loving sibling to his brothers Brock and Clint, and their shared moments of singing, laughter, roughhousing, and movie nights will always be remembered.
Davis had a deep love for his many school and church teachers, paraprofessionals, specialists, and other personnel who worked with him. School was a highlight for Davis, especially at Quincy Washington School District and Kauri School Hamilton in Riverton, Utah, where he formed meaningful, lasting relationships.
We would like to sincerely thank Davis’ Hospice team for the compassionate and exemplary care they gave to him and their efforts to support our family in a meaningful way. We would also like to express our gratitude to Dr.Kathleen Irby, who saw Davis as a valued individual first and medical diagnosis second. We are grateful for her medial expertise and her desire to support our family at every turn.
A funeral service for Davis will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6869 West Vista Springs Drive, Herriman, Utah at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing from 9:30-10:45 a.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Davis’s life.
