Elaine Goodfellow Smith

Dear Family, it was a privilege to be a friend of your mother. She was always so kind and thoughtful and visiting with her over lunch was filled with laughter. She was such a gracious, and worked tirelessly in her church, calling as the Relief Society President in the Forestview Ward. Sister Smith always lighted up the Chapel when she entered services. She was kind, sweet and very loving to the members. Her talks were always on point and we always enjoyed seeing and talking to her. She is missed and is with all her loved ones forever.

I was fortunate to have worked with Elaine for many years at the phone company. She was a sweet lady and always had a smile. Her stories of her life were always entertaining. You are missed & will never be forgotten! RIP 🙏

We sure love and miss you Grandma and Great Grandma Elaine. You were always so excited to see us when we would get together. We would try to keep the kids behaved in your pristine home with white carpet. You always had little gifts for the children and were so thoughtful. You were a woman of class and had such a big, giving heart. I will never forget our wonderful chats. We love you and will miss you!

Elaine and Lorraine were my Grandpa Norman Goodfellow’s twin sisters, and to me they were always inseparable. They were so witty, funny, beautiful, impeccably dressed, and had the most contagious laughs. One of my favorite things was trying to make them laugh.

I’ll always be grateful that Lorraine opened her home to me when I was a homeless college student. Those were such meaningful days, and I have wonderful memories of Elaine coming over to join us for dinner with Doug.

It’s hard to believe that with Elaine’s passing, she is now reunited with Lorraine after being apart for these past several years. As the last of Grandpa Norman’s siblings, it truly marks the end of an incredible generation of the Goodfellow family. While I’m so disappointed to miss her funeral because I’ll be in Peru picking up my son from his mission, it brings me so much peace to think of the reunion taking place on the other side. I can only imagine Grandpa Norman, Lorraine, their parents, and so many other loved ones welcoming Elaine home with open arms.

I was blessed to know my great-grandpa and often visit his and my great-grandma’s graves in Bountiful. Those visits have always reminded me that families really can be together forever. Today, that promise feels especially meaningful.

Sending my love and prayers to everyone who loved Elaine. She lived a beautiful life, left a wonderful legacy, and will be deeply missed.

I was very blessed to know and work with Elaine. She was a hard worker, fun, kind and always such an elegant lady. I have many fun memories of Elaine professionally and personally. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. My condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to all her family and friends.
