1931 ~ 2026
Jerry Littleton passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on April 11, 2026, at the age of 94, in Sandy, Utah. He was born on May 10, 1931, in Berkeley, California, and lived a long, full life.
Jerry was deeply committed to learning and engineering excellence. He graduated from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, in 1958 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and later completed a master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering. His education reflected both his intellectual rigor and his lifelong fascination with how things worked, particularly in the fields of mechanics and flight.
Jerry began his engineering career with Boeing in Seattle, Washington, before moving to Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah, where he specialized in propulsion systems. He went on to serve as a Lead Weapons System Engineer for the full duration of the Titan II missile program.
He proudly served his country as a Navy veteran, an experience that shaped his sense of discipline, service, and integrity.
Outside of his professional and academic accomplishments, Jerry had a wide range of interests that brought him joy. He had a lifelong love of cars, woodworking, and restoration. He enjoyed photography, and he also took great pride in collecting Browning and Winchester collectibles, valuing their craftsmanship and history.
Jerry’s greatest joy, however, was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Gaye Littleton, and their children: Leslie Reberg (Mike), Clark Littleton, Laura Carey (Eric), and Stacey Murray (Paul). He was a proud grandfather to Katie Reberg (Dakota Marsden), Ryan Littleton (Mark Nguyen), Sam Littleton, Logan Carey, Jackson Carey, Sierra Carey, Grace Murray, Abbey Murray, and Sean Murray, and a cherished great-grandfather to Max Nguyen and Etta Reberg. He is also survived by his sister, Meredith Ramos.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lester Littleton; mother, Aileen Littleton; sister, Joyce Simpson; and son-in-law, Eric Carey.
Jerry will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a thoughtful, intelligent man whose steady presence and quick wit left a lasting impression on those around him. His legacy lives on through his family and the many lives he touched over the course of his remarkable 94 years.
