Julia Jeannine Goates Johnson, a bright, fun loving, and encouraging light, has passed away, at the age of 81. She was surrounded by her loving husband, J McRay (Mick) Johnson, and her daughters on Thursday March 3rd, 2022, as she passed peacefully in her home.

Born January 7th, 1941, to Faridon James Anderson and Alvena Hauser Anderson in Cambridge Idaho, she was the second of five children. When Judy was young, (as a youngster she went by Judy), the family moved to Weiser Idaho, where her father started a dairy farm. Many shenanigans were had, growing up on a farm with her four siblings, Robert, Nancy, Jerry, and Mary. Julie always had fun stories, and fond memories of the Farm.

After graduating high school, Judy set her sights on becoming the first to attend college in her family, and headed to Brigham Young University. There, she excelled, paying her own way though, to ultimately graduate with a Masters degree in Business Administration.

After graduating college, Judy decided she preferred the name Julie, which is how most knew her. She met and married Benjamin Lewis Foulk DDS, and together they had four children, Bonnie, Ben, Janet, and Jason. They were married for 18 years. Julie moved from California to Utah, where she eventually met and married Delbert Goates until his sudden passing while serving an LDS mission in England. Julie was a faithful life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. After Delberts’ passing, Julie vowed to herself that she would never marry again, unless she met a man who truly made her laugh. A few years passed, and then she found that man, in J McRray (Mick) Johnson, and they were happily married for another 18 years until her passing.

She is survived by her devoted husband J McRay (Mick) Johnson, her children, Bonnie Jeannine Anderson, Benjamin James Foulk, Janet Lynn Ramos, her step children, Kathy Johnson, Julie Kofford, and Mark Johnson, her siblings, Robert Owen Anderson, Nancy Ann Anderson Southam, James Jerry Anderson, her 12 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by husband Delbert Goates, by her son Jason Brent Foulk, and her sister, Mary Ellen Anderson Bair.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 16th, 2022 at 11:00 am. It will be at the LDS church located at 6030 South Prairie View Drive, Taylorsville, UT 84129. There will be a viewing prior to the service, from 9:30-10:30. Interment will follow at 2:30 PM located at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84108

Everyone has their own story and I am saddened that I did not personal know Julia as a fellow resident of Summit Vista community. She did reach out to me to wish me a happy 78th birthday in 9/21!
I response in an email but here story was coming to a close so we did not have the opportunity to meet. She had a reputation of a warm joyful women and that is how many remember her time between the dash of DOB & DOD!
My sincere condolences to her family and many friends who will truly miss her presence in their lives. God Bless her loved ones! Shalom Julia!🎼😇🙏📿🛐

The Weiser High School Class of 1958 wishes to express our condolences to Judy's family. We remember Judy as a person with an infectious smile that could light up the room. We shared fun and laughter with her on our Class Reunion Cruise to Mexico. She has left us with fond memories.
