Tributes
Kathy was the greatest of friends. God sent her into my life when I needed her most. May God keep her in His love and care until we meet again.
Kathryn (and Michael) meant so much to me. We met when I was young and newly married. Those years we spent in Washington together were so foundational for me. Her life and family convinced me that we wanted children, and once we finally got them, I knew we wanted to homeschool. We kept in touch once she and Michael transferred with the Navy, and then we'd lose touch for a bit and reconnect, and lose touch and reconnect. When we reconnected a few years ago, I knew it was, once again, God sending my dear friend my way. Our biweekly conversations over the past two years are so precious to me. I will miss her tremendously, but look forward to a heavenly reunion!
Kathryn found out that I've taken up gardening. She told me that her favorite bush was the Oakleaf Hydrangea. On my next trip to the nursery, I found and purchased one. It is beautiful, just like Kathryn, and it makes me think of her every day when I water it. She truly was a treasure and a gem.
I will always remember how Kathryn leaned in and lit up when passionately discussing her great loves—Christ, her family, and the arts. She will be greatly missed.
A long time friend who will be missed especially by her wonderful family and close friends. Peace be with you.
Michael, We grew up on the same block in Anchorage, Alaska, you introduced me to Diane, my wife for over 50 years, and you stood with me at our wedding all those years ago, but my favorite memory was visiting you and Kathryn in Sardinia, Italy in the late 70’s. You are a special guy and you were blessed with an even more special lady. Kathryn was the best. Our hearts and love go out to you and your family.
You will be missed but our memory will be forever.
I don't make friends easily, but Kathryn is , I still have 15 year'sprobably the friend I have had the longest. One of the memories I hold most dearly is simply the great inspiration in so many ways and count the many blessings Kathryn brought into my life. that she was. The joy of the Lord was most definitely her strength. That joy was contagious and what flavored every conversation and text we shared with one another. Since I rarely delete text messages, I still have 15 years' worth that I can go back and re-read. Until we meet again. Love you bunches.
She was a very sweet lady and she loved god so much that she had to go and see him and she loved doing art and painting and she also loved her husband and her family and her friends she also had a great attitude towards her friends and we will miss her very much and when we go to heaven we will see her again.
