In Loving Memory
1959•2026
It is with love that we announce the passing of our father, Ronald “Mark” Dailey, who passed away on May 17th, 2026, at the age of 66 in West Jordan, Utah, with his children at his side.
Mark was born on July 22nd, 1959, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from Granger High School. He went on to work as a commercial auto parts salesman at Gordon Wilson and Jerry Seiner Dealerships, work that he was proud of. He was also known for his fascinating memory of part numbers and accounting, which made him a wonderful asset to the companies he worked for. Later in life he worked for Taylorsville City as a groundskeeper and loved to show everyone the city he helped to beautify.
Mark loved working in the yard, gardening, cooking elaborate meals, and helping to make a comfortable home for his family. He found joy in camping and fishing with his children and grandchildren, and later in his life he came to enjoy hobbies like wooden puzzles and diamond art paintings. He will be remembered most for his kind heart and good intentions.
He is survived by his two children, Amanda (Jeff) Dailey-Hansen and Tanika (Shad) Downward, his four grandchildren Baxter and Maxwell Hansen and Everly and Indie Downward; his former spouse Joan Johnson; his siblings Butch (Connie), Scott (Jeanne), Steve (Heidi), Robyn (Mark) Cherrington, Marty (Debbie), Becky (Richard) Harston and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nyle Orlando “Tex” Dailey II, Reva “Faye” Dailey, and two brothers, Ross Edward Dailey and Robert Michael “Mickey” Dailey.
A memorial service will be held on June 5th, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Larkin Funeral Home located at 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road in Sandy, UT.
Sorry for your loss, I my prayers are with you and your family 🙏

So sorry to hear about Mark. It's been a while since I've seen him, but I'll never forget the good 'ol days at Gordon Wilson. Mark Mahony and I were swapping stories about him the other day. He was too young. I think of you guys often.
